A Note From Achintha

Having been in survival mode for most of my life, I wanted life to feel better, not a piece of work or something I needed to keep dealing with. At 14, I tore through every resource, paper, video that I could get my hands on, that would help me understand how to do this. In this process, I landed on a paper by Harvard, that said that good relationships was the key to happiness over the long term. This was the starting point for me as a psychologist.

Fast forward to now, my experience spans across a wide range of people, places, and life stories, a variety professions, countries and cultures. From Academy award nominees to security guards, Ghana to the continental US, police stations to hospitals.

And no matter the setting, country, age, race, profession or background, The two indispensable things that determined if a person was fulfilled, was seeking the highest potential in themselves, while also being present; this balance is the key to thriving, living fully and without sounding too morbid, leaving the world with the peace that you've truly lived, and done your best.

This is how a life well lived became my specialization in the field. I needed to find a way to help people, their relationships and marriages, and their lives to be more than just 'okay'.

This gap began the creation of the Compass system, which I worked on nearly every day in the background for over 6 years. Something that can be practiced in daily life and led people towards the life they've always wanted to live.

This is what therapy with me will be like — a space for coming back to yourself, reflecting on your experiences and moving towards being the person you were always meant to be.

Warmly,
Achintha Sarapalli

Postscript. Interestingly enough, it was my clients who encouraged me to start my own practice. One said I just needed to stop over analyzing and just start, and yet another said that if I don't do the brave thing now and begin, I might regret it later. I wouldn't have been here without their encouragement, and everything I have learnt from each and every one of my clients. They are amazing people, and I am eternally grateful.

Your Questions

How do I schedule a session?

You can reach out via the contact form, Instagram, or email. We'll discuss your needs and I will help you find a time that suits your schedule and answer any questions. After payment confirmation, you're all set, and you'll get a meeting link 15 minutes before the session begins.

Do you work with clients outside India?

Yes. If you’re based outside India, sessions are offered as coaching, with the same depth, care, and thoughtfulness. This is simply because even as a licensed professional, you are by law restricted to your jurisdiction, like your country, or in some places like the US, your state. Living abroad comes with its own unique set of challenges, and having lived abroad myself I am well oriented with what that is like and what will help.

How are payments handled?

Payment is accepted through UPI/GPay/Paytm/PhonePe/Bank Transfer/Remitly/Wise. Payment is required to secure your slot. If payment is not received at least 24 hours in advance, it might result in an automatic cancellation of your slot and you would need to rebook.

Do you work with those in the LGBTQ+ community?

Absolutely, I am trauma informed and queer affirmative, and have worked with plenty of those in the community, dating and married couples included. Everyone is welcome here.

Do you offer therapy to minors?

I do not currently offer therapy to anyone under the age of 18.

What happens in the first session?

In the first session, we will start with understanding what you're going through right now, gather any necessary information, clarify any doubts and questions, and explain the process of therapy. They will also start creating a plan for you to meet your goals, something you both will progressively do together.
