Founder's Note
Having been in survival mode for most of my life, I wanted life to be better, not a piece of work, or something I needed to keep dealing with. At fourteen, I set out to understand how to do this. I tore through every resource, paper, and video that I could get my hands on.
This was the starting point for me as a psychologist, and fast forward to now, I have worked with a wide range of people, places, and life stories, across a variety of professions, countries and cultures.
However, when trying to improve my own sense of living well, I hit many roadblocks. I was experiencing unexplained fatigue, every single day. The doctors found no illness, so that was that. Wellness centers, although relaxing for the moment, did not have anything scientifically grounded. Mental health helped by validating my experience, but could not go beyond burnout as an explanation.
That left me to get to the bottom of it myself, and one step at a time, looking into psychology, nutrition, supplementation, and lifestyle. By converging them together, I managed to not just feel less tired, but become rejuvenated and full of zest.
Khaḷe emerged from this intersection — of lived experience, professional practice, and sustained research. It is an attempt to bring these fragments into alignment: a single, considered space where healthcare, advanced testing, mental wellbeing, and restorative environments converge.
Warmly,
Achintha
Postscript. Interestingly enough, my clients were the people who encouraged me to start my own venture. One of them said I needed to stop over analyzing and just start. Yet another said that if I don't do the brave thing now and begin, I might regret it later. I would not be here without their encouragement, and everything I have learnt from each and every one of my clients. They are wonderful people, and I am eternally grateful.
